Neil Schiller assists clients with legal matters involving land use, zoning and development, government contracts and procurement, and local, state and federal lobbying. A veteran of South Florida politics since his days at the University of Miami, Neil has run many successful political campaigns in Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, and St. Lucie counties. Through these campaigns and his 20 years of practice as an attorney and lobbyist, Neil has developed a network of contacts in local, regional, state and federal business and political circles, including local civic activists. In 2009, The South Florida Sun-Sentinel included him in its “Super-Lobbyist” list for his extensive work before the County Commission, and in 2017, the Palm Beach Post said Neil was a “veteran of public hearings.”

Experience

Land Use

As a land use/development attorney, Neil has successfully guided developers, investment funds, corporations, non-profits and others through the multifaceted approval process with issues such as comprehensive plan amendments, site-plan approvals, rezonings, variances and special exceptions, and code compliance. Neil has represented large, institutional South Florida developers and homebuilders along with single-purpose entities for “one-off” projects. Additionally, Neil is actively representing several corporate clients in the redevelopment of their sites in South Florida and has represented cellular telecommunication providers and financial institutions in similar roles. As a resident of the county’s Agricultural Reserve, Neil advises clients on the ins and outs of developing in the Ag Reserve.

Government Contracts and Procurement

Neil has a vast experience in the government contract and procurement aspects of government. Having represented clients in a wide variety of jurisdictions on the successful selection and award of the contract they were seeking and then ensuring that the County or City Commission confirms the award. If necessary, Mr. Schiller has a tremendous amount of experience with filing and arguing bid protests. Neil is undefeated in bid protests in Palm Beach County!

Lobbying

Neil has cemented his reputation in South Florida for his advocacy of his clients and his causes. He takes his almost thirty years of political experience and relationships at the local, state, and national levels of government and combines that with his legal experience to assist his clients reach their goals. Drafting and advocating for new or revise laws is a GLG specialty, where we identify a local issue, work with the stakeholders, staff and elected officials to fix resolve the issue.
